Safety should feel like part of the match.
A few simple habits can help you keep conversations, first dates, and your personal information in your control.
The matches area requires sign-in. It is where members can use the conversation controls described below.
Your pace matters
You never owe someone access to your time, money, location, or attention.
If something feels off, pause the conversation. Trusting your instincts is enough reason to step away.
On this page
Raise a concern when something crosses a line.
Reporting helps Winkspoke understand harmful behavior and gives you a way to document a conversation that does not feel right.
From the conversation
Go to Matches, open the conversation-actions menu, choose Report conversation, select a reason, and submit it.
Before you report
You do not need to keep replying or gather perfect evidence. Share the clearest context you have, then step away.
Create distance without explaining yourself.
Blocking is for unwanted contact, repeated pressure, or any moment when you simply want the conversation to stop.
No explanation required.
A boundary is useful even when the other person disagrees with it.
How to block
- Open the conversation-actions menu in Matches.
- Choose Block and confirm the action.
- If the behavior also breaks a safety rule, report the conversation too.
Make the first meetup easy to leave and easy to enjoy.
A thoughtful plan protects your comfort while leaving room for the date to unfold naturally.
- Meet in a busy public place, especially the first time.
- Tell a trusted person who you are meeting, where, and when to expect you back.
- Keep control of your own transportation and have a way home you can use independently.
- Keep your phone charged, check in if you said you would, and leave if your instincts tell you to.
Choose visibility
A café, park, or other familiar public spot gives you options.
Keep someone in the loop
A simple check-in plan can make a new experience feel more grounded.
Slow down when the story does not add up.
Scammers often build trust quickly, then create urgency. You can pause, verify, and protect your information at every step.
Stop and reassess if someone:
- Asks for money, gift cards, verification codes, passwords, or account credentials.
- Rushes you off-platform or pressures you to keep the relationship secret.
- Has an identity, location, job, or story that keeps changing or cannot be verified.
A clear next step
Do not send anything or click anything you are unsure about. Stop replying, block the person, and report the conversation from Matches.
